Klenovica is a small and quiet resort, situated just a little bit southern of much more “lively” Riviera and resorts Crikvenica, Selce and Novi Vinodolski. It lies in the bottom of mountain Velebit. Klenovica is primarily destination which could be recommended to families that are looking for peace; there are four restaurants in the resort, same as cafés, several shops, post-office, camping site, petrol station, so car could be parked and there is no need to use it until the end of your vacation.

If you want typical summer crowd, you will find it just 20 km far away in Crikvenica, either together with numerous tourists on the main sandy beach or during a walk on the main promenade with plenty of cafés opened until late night hours.

Main characteristics of Klenovica are springs of fresh-water in the sea that is very pleasant during summer heats, when temperature of the sea is a little bit cooler than in other places. Mixture of fresh and salt water is favourable for growth of flora and fauna, so this zone is full of fish that is also recognized by dolphins which could be seen with a bit of luck. Permanent visitors to Klenovica for many years have been swans – perhaps the only place where they live by the sea. In the restaurants of Klenovica delicious fish-food is prepared – restaurants even have their own fishing boats. During your stay in Klenovica, it is recommended at least one day spend on a trip to inland; just after 20 minutes of uphill drive you will reach a real mountain scenery, over 1.000 meters high. Winter resort Bjelolasica is situated only 40 kilometres of “air-line” far from Klenovica.
